Dermatology — Feline

High-yield dermatology presentations in feline cases, drilled with NAVLE-style vignettes.

Microsporum canis is zoonotic, and children are commonly affected. Management combines systemic and topical antifungal therapy for the cat, environmental decontamination, and referral of affected humans to a physician. Otodectes cynotis is highly contagious among household pets, so all in-contact dogs and cats are treated with a systemic acaricide such as selamectin or an isoxazoline; cleaning alone does not eliminate the mites.
